In no particular order,
1) Steam
This theme is done by none other than the half-left. The theme is based on the Steam (game) software. With a black feel and high quality and detail through out, this is one of the great themes available for gnome shell.
You can find the download from here
2) GnomeArch
Give your gnome shell some arch Linux love with this wonderful theme. This looks really nice and pleasant to work with. Also get the modified gnome striped wallpaper to go with the theme.
The theme is created by Alucryd and can be downloaded from here.
3) gSmall
This is an awesome theme based on the gnome default theme specially created for small screens. If you have a laptop with height less than 900 pixels or a netbook, this might be the right choice. It has a smaller top panel and smaller application icons in the overview mode.
Download the theme created by Solo-Dev from here.
4) Nord
This theme is based on the wonderful zukitwo theme and created by 0rax0
This theme have nice transparent panels and dash. Nice looking menu, widgets and a great color theme (see the picture below).
Download the theme from here.
5) SpearMint
The spearmint is another of the great themes this time with a green tinge. As the name suggests it is a linuxmint based theme. It has a grey/metallic overall feel and a mint color for selection
The theme is developed by therealpadster and can be downloaded from here
So, thats it, enjoy.

Sorry, but how to install them? You forgot to make a link where to find the installation instructions.
Sorry, updated the post.
Thank you for pointing out.
after reading the links, I am still not sure how to install the themes (specifically GnomeArch). I have extracted the zip archive and put file in /usr/share/themes, but it does not show up in gnome-tweak-tools. what should i do?
Themes 1-2-3 all dark and very samey.
4 = ruined by red bits
5 = nice, but just looks the same as the theme I’m already using, that Linux Mint ripped off.
Here is a theme I am using at the moment and really like http://tiheum.deviantart.com/art/Holo-280076980
